On the Road Again!

I'm going home to Cali to visit the parents. Missing them and excited to see my mom finally at home after being in the hospital for months. She is as of today "Cancer Free!" Not to get to sappy with ya'll but...

Sometimes we forget how important someone is in our life until we lose them or get close to losing them. Never take friends, family, people for granted.

Love you all...

Front Yard Roses

Last year late spring I pulled up all the plants in the front of our home and planted my fav...white roses(Iceberg florabudas to be exact.) I wanted to show all my friends from Cali that say it rains too much in Oregon to see what the rain does in only one season.
(First 3 pics are the before photos)

Fall Preview

Pottery Barn just introduced their fall collections and I am so excited! Not that I will buy any of it full price, but I think they are really trying to carry more unique pieces. I used to feel like I could walk into someones home and say "Oh you have the Chelsea Couch." Everyone had the same stuff but now they are steering away from the "norm." Here are some of my favorites this season. Enjoy!

This couch is gorgeous with its ticking stripes and brass studs!

(I love this horse pic... do I feel a project coming on?)
( Great grain sack pillows that are actually affordable)

B E A utiful!

(Loving the Kiln rugs)

Possible Next Project?

Matt and I have been throwing around the idea of painting our kitchen cabinets. This would be a huge undertaking and makes me nervous. What if we mess up?! The cleaning, sanding, staining, painting and then painting and then.... you get the idea. I have painted wood furniture before but
not something as big as a kitchen. My cabinets are also new! I know its crazy but they are maple and I really like the painted look. Call me crazy! Here are two before and after kitchens that are from other bloggers and then some inspiring pictures of kitchens with painted cabinets.

Bargain Tuesdays!

I saw these for 70 bucks at Target a few months ago and fell in love with them. They look much nicer in person. They are cute storage cubes that are grey, my 2nd fav color and made out of linen...my fav fabric so of course I fell for them. Well they are now on clearance for 39.00! I don't have a need for them only a want so if you guys find a need buy them so I can live through ya! Have a great Tuesday!

WOW!

There is a blog I love and visit everyday... "Life in the Fun Lane" Holly is a new mom and they also just purchased a new home. She is the queen of finding old furniture and making it beautiful! I am a true believer that a bit of paint and sanding can fix anything! Here are some pictures of a old buffet she purchased for cheap at a goodwill type store. Totally inspiring Holly!
Sorry the pic of the china cabinet base wouldn't paste but you get the idea

Setting the Mood

These pictures are some of my favorites. They all set this calming, serene mood to me. If I was a house I would want to age well, have many focal points, be calming, warm and open. All these pics are those things to me. When I purchase things for my home I try to make sure they have a couple of those characteristics. These pics have almost all by themselves. Does this house look like me..haha jk.

My Summer Pasttime

During the Summer(well really year-around) I love to read! I'm a total dork. I buy a book and if it is good I love to sit in the backyard and read till Matt asks me when I'm gonna be done( meaning he's bored). Over the last few months I have read the first two books by Ann McPartlin and they have both been a dream! They are enjoyable easy reads with lots of fun girl stuff. A perfect page turner.

The third book is Anna's new release. I just picked it up and can't wait to start it. If it is at all like the first two I will be thrilled.

The new one.... As Sure as the Sun

Hello Strangers

I Know...I know its been awhile since I have posted sorry! It has been kinda crazy between camp and getting the flu! For a couple of days I wasn't sure I was gonna make it. Hahah. I'm better now and ready to blog so here we go...

I Hope everyone had a great 4th of July. If you don't know it is by far my favorite holiday. It was our neighborhoods 1st annual block party. It was so much fun! All our bbq's were in our front yards and we set off fireworks, ate great food, had great conversation and just relaxed!

On to the important stuff...Bargain Tuesdays!

I love these high lacquer frames at z gallerie. They are a great price and come in 4 different sizes. I picked up to red ones for a pop of color. They are traditional with a eclectic edge! You could even pair them with other colors on a wall of black and white pics for a statement. I ordered a corner table for my living room that will be here in a week and that is where the frames are going. I will show you pics when it arrives!
