Meet & Greet - Design Manifest

Meet Naomi from the blog Design Manifest.  She is an interior designer in the Philadelphia area. Her blog is her design journal that we luckily get to partake in! She has fantastic taste, using bold colors, with bits of modern, traditional and ethnic flairs.

This is where she blogs...

Bold and Beautiful! No wonder her blog is so chic, blogging in that environment!

I wanted to introduce Design Manifest to you in case you don't already follow because I am always amazed at her DIY projects. Often times I see DIY's and think they look like DIY's! Not Naomi's! Hers look like they are just as expensive as the real deal. There have been two projects in particular that made my jaw drop, but before I share them with you, here are a few photos of her amazing loft.

Pure eye candy, right?!!

OK, now to  Naomi's DIY's.  She took this pine dresser from Ikea.
.

Stained it...

Painted it...

Added hardware...

And Viola!

To see this project step by step and the inexpensive cost breakdown go here.

This next DIY is my all time favorite! If you read my blog at all you know I love campaign furniture and asian art.  Naomi created the perfect piece.

And here is the finished product with two cabinets next to each other...

To see this project step by step go here.

Thank you Naomi for inspiring all your reader's and showing us that design doesn't need to break the bank. Your blog has personally inspired me to tackle projects and think outside the box. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and creativity with us!

XO,
Heather

I promise you will start drooling. If you ever see a piece that you want to add to your personal collection or host a trunk show in the Portland, OR area let me know, I would love to help you!

Mission Statement
TO GIVE EVERY WOMAN THE MEANS TO STYLE HER OWN LIFE.

We get great joy out of designing irresistible jewelry. And yet, jewelry is just the tangible expression of something much greater we are creating. We have a vision of the world where STRONG WOMEN LIVE BOLD and joyful lives. They know what they want and they work for it. They inspire each other. Passion and joy are their best accessories.

Need vs.Want

NEED

NEED these Mid Century Heron's because I have nothing on my mantel and wanted to add a bit of glamor to the room.  I thought the combo of brass and black onyx would be just the thing. It kind of reminded me of an accessory you would see in Lonny Mag.  Trust me, it wasn't like needing toilet paper, this buy I'm still super excited about, hehee.

Want

I also wanted to pick up this great brass clock with amazing sun burst like detail. Problem is, I don't NEED it. Boooooo!! If any of you think you NEED it and decide to pick it up here, please post pictures!

Happy Friday,
Heather

Meet & Greet - Meet Me in Philadelphia

Meet Ashley! Isn't she adorable, along with her fantastic living room. I love the midcentury feel to it. I am excited to share her blog, Meet Me in Philadelphia with you because she has fantastic taste and great thrifty ideas.
I was first drawn to Ashley's taste in decor, then finding we both have a love for textiles! She has a fantastic way of layering textiles and textures to make her decor feel like it was pieced over time. There is a certain layed back yet chic feel to her style that I admire.

I'm going to jump right in with some pictures of her home. These are some of my fav's.

Eye Candy!

So, we can see she is excellent at decorating, but she is also good at getting it done on a budget!
Since I have been following Ashley, I have been inspired by some of her DIY's.

Look at this great pagoda side table she found at an auction. Very unique piece with loads of character.

A little spray paint....

Viola! Ashley picked an amazing blue and now the fun table is a chic piece of art! To see her full post about this fun find go here.

This project really showed her imagination when she started with this inspiration photo of a side table from West Elm, by Stray Dog Design. It costs a pretty penny, so....

She paper mached her own!

Look how amazing and similar it turned out! There are obviously many steps to the process I am leaving out. To see the total transformation go here.

I hope you enjoyed meeting another talented woman! If you haven't yet , go visit her blog. Oh, and don't forget to wish her best of luck. She is getting married this Saturday! Congrat's Ashley, can't wait to see pictures. Have a fantastic honeymoon in Greece!

XO,
Heather

Another Find

I know, I'm obsessed with campaign furniture. But I just can't get enough. This was not a planned purchase. I saw it on Craigslist for 40 bucks and couldn't pass it up. The wood is in really good shape but I am still thinking of painting it this color...

Domino Mag

A really rich cobalt blue in high gloss. After bringing the hardware back to life, I can see a white porcelain lamp and an over sized fern sitting on top. Can you see it?

Have you found any good finds lately?

XO,
Heather
