The Campaign is done!

I am super excited to show you the pictures of my completed campaign dresser! I have always wanted a piece of campaign furniture and now I have one of my very own. I love the sleek midcentury modern feel with an elegant, yet masculine brass hardware. As silly as it sounds,if I were a piece of furniture I would be a campaign piece...LOL!

(Before)

Above is a before picture of the dresser. Similar color but look at how tarnished the hardware was. I used my tried and true friend....

This stuff is amazing for ANYTHING tarnished. It is really gentle and brings out the original luster. Even better it will only put you back a few bucks at your local grocery.

I also painted the wall behind the dresser to make the dresser pop in my entryway. It also makes my entry way feel like its own room! The brown is Benjamin Moor's-Bittersweet Chocolate. It is one of the winter colors for Pottery Barn.

Now the next thing I have on my list of "To-do's" is to figure out what cute objects I can find to put on top :)

If you have any suggestions on accessories for the dresser, I would love to hear them!

Heather

Kitchen Face Lift

Hello All! Hope you had a great Christmas, we did! With my dad in town, we has have been busy with house projects. We got around to painting the kitchen...wooohoooo! I posted before and after pictures below. The tan is before and the green is after.

I have been wanting to change up my kitchen a bit especially after seeing this inspiring picture!!

I love the warmth of the wall paint with the different wood grains. I especially love the chandelier. The next step in my kitchen is to change the chandelier. I found one really similar to the inspiration pic above and a few other that I also am crushing on. Here is where you come in. I would love your help in deciding which one to go with. The below three are the contesters.

I would also love any other advice you have for my kitchen to help me get closer to my inspiration pic.

Thanks Friends

Green With Envy

My wonderful dad is coming for two weeks during the Holidays! I am so excited. Every time my dad comes he likes to be put to work. I guess its a "Dad" thing, but he likes to feel like he is helping me like I'm some kind of damsel in distress. So before he comes I get to thinking about projects that I've wanted to accomplish. This trip we will be painting the kitchen. I am really excited because I feel like my kitchen is stuck in this country/shabby chic rut! I really don't like either. I would like to modernize(if that is a word). Paint is always a good and CHEAP place to start. Here is a picture of what my kitchen looks like now.....

I wanted to paint the cabinets but my husband laid down the law and said no. I guess he is right. They are new and in great condition. I really wanted to paint them a shade of green like Pure Style Home, a great blog if you haven't checked it out. Picture below...

If I can't paint the cabinets green I am going to paint the walls green. I decided to go with...

(Shortgrass Prairie-Behr)
I'm thinking of adding new hardware as well to give it a more modern feel. I like these steel rod pulls. They are 7.99 for a two pack!
If any of you have any kitchen ideas for me I would love to hear them!

White Walls

I don't know what it is about white walls, but I just sigh every time I see a picture of a room with them. It puts me so at ease. Many feel white walls are boring and outdated, but if done right, there is nothing drab about them. White walls make me think of fresh, calming, modern but not cold, simple, sophisticated, calm. One of my favorite whites is by Ben Moore, Decorators White. I have never seen it look bad with any decor. I will be painting a room in my house with it in the next few weeks. Can't wait to post the before and afters! For now, enjoy some of my favorite white rooms.
