House Beautiful & New Series

Have you guys seen the April issue of House Beautiful? If not, go pick it up. The issue showcases some amazing rooms. I was drooling the whole way through it.
******************************************
Just wanted to share some exciting news with ya'll! I'm starting my first series over at My Many Moments. I'm calling it, "Meet & Greet." It will focus on some of my most favorite blogs I go to and follow daily. I started my blog a little over a year ago and have been so inspired by some of the most artistic, interesting, and inspiring women. I feel like even though they have other followers, they are all my "little secrets" when it comes to design and inspiration. I decided I wanted all of you to not only know about them, but see where they blog.

Each week I will have the honor of showcasing a blog I heart and let you inside what I find unique about each one. Often times while reading blogs I wonder where the writers creativity takes place. Don't you ever wonder where others sit and blog?
Hope you enjoy this series and get to know some inspiring women along the way.

Let me know if you are interested in being featured for this series. I would love to hear from you.

P.S. The last couple of weeks I have noticed I have a few new followers. Trust me, you don't go unnoticed, and I'm thankful for each and every one of you.

XO,
Heather

Words from the Wise

Meet Lauren Liess. She is by far one of my most favorite designers. Her style is truly exquisite. She is the first blog I go to in the morning for inspiration. I wanted to share about her specifically today because Lauren's post this morning was a very important and educational one. I think it is one all my readers should read. So, after looking at these photos of her amazing home, click on the the link to read some words from a wise woman, Lauren.

Spotted this little guy in GoodWill. My favorite store lately. Sorry for the bad photo, I quickly took it with my phone. Very Mid Century. Reminds me of an accessory you would find on Red's desk in Mad Men.

Leopard Print

House Beautiful

What is your opinion on using leopard print in design? I used to think that it was really tacky! Like the picture below.

Then I realized, it's all in the amount of animal print you use. After reading a few articles from some of my favorite designers, I learned leopard print is a classic look that will never go out of style. When done in the right dosage, you end up with an elegant, classy, eclectic, warm look. I found these pictures to be very helpful in how much is too much. These next rooms did an amazing job making the print a gem in each room.

I am adding a touch of leopard print to my living room, but it wont arrive until April 3rd. I promise to share asap!

A New Addition

Can you spot the little bench under the table? Remember when I talked about the fabrics I scored at GoodWill? I had just the project in mind. A small bench I purchased months ago for under 5 bucks. It was in bad shape so I had to sand the wood down and put a fresh coat of stain on it.

*****************************************************

Hear is the step by step

First I removed the top of the bench

Second, I removed the old fabric with a screw driver and added new batting to the frame.

Then I wrapped the new fabric, pulling it carefully so it laid smooth. Then stapled it around the edges.

And Viola! A new bench for under 5 bucks.

Heather
