This past weekend I had the honor of throwing a dual baby shower for two of my closest friends. It came off without a hitch and the two mommies to be were showered with love and presents. Planning the shower really got me thinking about baby decor and kid's rooms. My friends are more "modern mommies," staying away from the traditional pink princesses or Mini Mouse decor, thank God! I am not a fan of the Babies "R" Us selections for nursery decor. I think it is easy to go overboard when it comes to decorating a nursery. When I am blessed to become a mommy, I think I will grab my inspiration from these chic but functional baby rooms.

Last but not least, my very favorite nursery I have seen in the blog world. The talented Lauren Liess with
Pure Style Home. Just look at those dark walls and that block print canopy! I want that room for myself.
Which room is your favorite?
For the readers that follow for my recipes, go here to see what I served. It was mmm...mmmm...good!

I love the one from "pink wallpaper"! Hope you are feeling better love...
ReplyDeleteWow, that's a tough call. I think either the Domino room or the Pink Wallpaper. Nurseries sure have evolved.
ReplyDeleteI love love love the first room!!! I agree "traditional babies rooms are BORING! Nice work my friend!
ReplyDeleteUm, my girls have Minnie Mouse decor in their room. Joking!
ReplyDeleteEvery time I have come across the one with the giraffe on the wall, I've thought of you! I think it's the grey walls, black chandelier, and oriental rug.
Buy modern baby with the giraffe on the wall - I have a 17month old who loves anaimals and I could see him running around in this room.
ReplyDeletePlus I love the walls and carpet. xx
