Front Door Sprusing

I decided I was over my red front door.  I felt the red door with the box wood and wooden star was leaning towards country. There is nothing wrong with a country look, it's just not my cup of tea.  I wanted to change up the entrance area on a budget, adding a bit more of a modern/traditional feel.
Can't wait to hear what you all think?!

After

I used an oil based black paint for a gloss look.  I even painted the door frame.  The husband wasn't sure about painting the frame, but afterwards he loved it.  When will he start trusting me?!  I bought the lion knocker off Ebay for 25 bucks.  I love how masculine he looks! The tall white pot is from Ikea. It put me back 12 bucks.  I filled it with succulents and evergreens that will shortly be crawling down the pot.  I get so excited pulling up to our house!

Happy Monday!

  1. Love it!!! We are looking to do something very similar. I am waiting on choosing the lanterns first before I decide on the paint color...but glossy black with gold touches is what I am leaning towards! Great job! Take care, Caroline
